Enter my world.
A place for feelings and thoughts...

Portfolio

My artworks are of two kinds: symbolic and abstract. Symbolic and abstract paintings requires to think and create in two different ways. Let me introduce them successively.

Symbolic paintings

These works are mainly symbolic. Human being is seldom paint but is almost always an underlying subject : his behavior, his thoughts, his perceptions, his feelings, his relationship with the world, with others or with himself… The visual appearence is stylised and pure, in order to be universally understood. The figurative look hides other meanings. We can only enjoy the aesthetic look, however paintings invite to see beyond. There is an initial idea, this is not the only one. This is the first step to think further and imagine. A start to a pleasant aesthetic and intellectual travel. A cognitive and thought experiment.

Abstract paintings

The artworks in that group are abstract ones. Abstract doesn't mean created from nothing, without structure or idea. They are inspired by environment, everything that is surrounding us (plants, insects, textures, arts…). Sometimes, it's only a tiny piece of something that attracts my attention but it's always a detail I find beautiful and which illustrates how nature or human can be splendid and creative. Enjoy watching these artworks but looking at them, guess what was the original model, where did the inspiration come from. Thus, we have to look after what is part of our world (plants, minerals, animals, people…), we have to be aware of the universe we belong to, discover new things, change our point of view. Ultimately, the purpose is to see what we didn't look at or didn't really look at.

The artist

I have an intuitive and rational mind. These two states of mind seemingly opposed are for me as yin and yang : they can't be separated. They are melded, they complete and strenghten each other. This appears in my paintings.
